Men's - West Wickham 1 (league) beat Woodcroft 1 (cup) 42-21
West Wickham got a jump start on Rink 1 (12-0 up!) before Woodcroft managed to get into the game - final score 18-8 after 18 ends. Similar on Rink 2, although Woodcroft got the score back to 13-14 after 14 ends, before losing a 6 on the 16th end from which they didn't recover - final score to WW 24-13 and they shook hands to call it a day after 17 ends.

Ladies - Blackheath & Greenwich (cup) beat South Hill Wood 1 (league) 45-38
B&G took an early lead on Rink 5 helped by an 8 on the 4th end, however SHW ladies came back with a 6 on the 7th and after being 18-20 down on the 17th end scored a 3 on the final end to win that rink 21-20. On Rink 4 it was nip and tuck in the first half with B&G leading 12-11 at the 9th end, but then B&G pulled away with a final score of 25-17 resulting in the overall winning margin to B&G being 7 shots.

Venue & weather: Bethlam Bowls Club
The rain held off and the light was good throughout. A chilly but well contested evening, and great to see a number of supporters attending to cheer on their respective teams. Bethlam hosted the event and the green was in great condition, playing true for all the teams, with Andrea Jebb and Peter Harris our Umpires, on hand to keep everything moving. We enjoyed a very enjoyable hot and cold dinner, with excellent desserts. Tea & coffee, plus biscuit & cakes were readily available during the match for a modest contribution. Bethlam also had a raffle during dinner, which was well supported by all attendees. Great hospitality from Bethlam and a strong contribution towards their own Charity, the Canterbury Oast Trust.

Charities
West Wickham have donated their £125 to Demelza who deliver care to children facing serious or life-limiting conditions, with Blackheath & Greenwich donating their £125 to Marie Curie who provide nursing care for terminally ill patients.
